The main document certifying the identity of citizens on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an identity card. When does it need to be received? For how long is it issued? Can it be used abroad?
AT WHAT AGE DO YOU NEED TO GET AN IDENTITY CARD?
In accordance with paragraph 6 of the Rules for Documenting the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an identity card of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued to citizens from the age of 16. According to paragraph 1 of these Rules, citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regardless of their place of residence, must have identity documents.
IS AN IDENTITY CARD VALID ABROAD?
According to paragraph 6 of the Rules for Documenting the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an identity card is valid only on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
FOR HOW LONG IS AN IDENTITY CARD ISSUED?
An identity card of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued for a period of validity of 10 years (Clause 6 of the Rules for Documenting the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan). Previously issued certificates are considered valid until the expiration date specified in them.
WHAT LANGUAGE ARE THE IDENTITY CARDS FILLED IN?
In accordance with paragraph 4 of the Rules for Documenting the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the identity card is filled in by the authorized body, at the request of the owner, in the state or Russian languages.
